HIRING PERSONNEL FAVORITE ASKED QUESTION

(job seeker/bully complainant favorite questions)

What are the benefits of a bully record search?

ANSWER: Much like someone with a criminal record, bullies are bad for business. A bully can ruin the reputation of a company and force good, loyal employees to quit their job. If that were not enough, a harassment lawsuit could literally put a company out of business. Furthermore, the number of suicides that result from workplace bullying is under-reported. Most do not like to talk about it because of the taboo of the subject.

What’s the difference between conducting a search on this website and public  record search websites like beenverified.com?

ANSWER: The short answer: Bullying Complaints.  The long answer: Public record search websites such as beenverified.com  provide access to millions of public records. That can be a great thing depending on what you’re looking for. Try searching for a bullying complaint on a public record search website and see what you can find. Chances are you won’t find much, if anything at all. We’ve been bully busters since 2014 and have accumulated over 1 million bullying complaints since then, and we receive at least 100 bullying complaints daily. Bully victims use our reporting tool to make a complaint because, for the most part, they are familiar with Cobraman Organization and understand that we have dedicated our lives to end bullying. People trust us. People count on us to make a difference in the world of bullying. Currently, our website systems are not integrated with any third party search service and therefore our databases of over 1 million bullying complaints can only be accessed and us.

Do I need a release form to do a bully background check?

ANSWER: If you intend to use a criminal background check for employment purposes in the united states, the Fair Credit Reporting Act requires you to obtain written permission from the applicant in a clear and conspicuous manner. In Canada, The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) mandates that an employer can use or disclose people’s personal information only for the purpose for which they gave consent, and if that purpose changes, a new consent must be collected. Similarly to the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, PIPEDA and the Canadian Standards Association’s Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information  state that the individual should be informed of the purposes for the collection, use or disclosure of personal data. The candidate must be given enough time and space to comprehend the forms and provide truly voluntary consent.

That said, there are no specific laws in place which require you to obtain written permission from the applicant for a “bully” record search. In spite of this, to protect your company from liability, we suggest you adhere to the guidelines of the FCRA.

No worries, Cobraman Organization  pays close attention to all legislation related to new hiring and screening practices and will stay in constant communication with our clients in the membership section of this website.

Can recruiters/staffing agencies use this service?

ANSWER: Absolutely. The last thing a recruiter wants is to lose a client because a job candidate turned out to be a workplace bully. Keep clients happy and coming back by going the extra mile with a bully record search.

What is the difference between a criminal record check and a bully record check?

ANSWER: A criminal background check usually includes a search of civil and criminal court filings, credit information and personal history, including verification of degrees and past employment. A bully background check includes a search of our database inundated with over 1 million bullying complaints across North America. We receive at least 100 bullying complaints daily. A bully background check also searches for bullying complaints online. Keep in mind, a job candidate may have a clean criminal record yet still be a bully who can cause havoc in the workplace. Both a criminal and bully record search should be conducted in order to find the perfect job candidate. Think of a bully background check as an invaluable add-on service to a criminal record check.
